A Creative Card

Last week it was my lovely friend Charlie’s birthday and I wanted to make her a handmade card so that it was more personal and special. To be honest I really struggle to find cards that are just a little bit different in high street shops. And, well it’s not like I don’t have a ton of crafty goodness hanging around the studio now is it!?

After all, Happiness is Handmade.

It also meant I got to play around with my old scrapbook supplies as well, which I miss doing as I am having a year off the commitment of ‘scrapbooking the everyday’ to launch this blog and my future creative biz. So happiness all round I would say and I wanted to show you all what I created as I was pretty darn chuffed with it.

I love love love doilies so this was my starting point. They add a really subtle prettiness, especially when paired with pearls!

I then wanted to add a real pop of colour and this docrafts® Papermania paper flower from their ‘Capsule Collection’ was just the trick and had a pre-made hole in the centre that was just crying out for a pastel pink brad.

Good Morning Buttoneers! Today I bring you my paper pinwheel tutorial. I totally enjoy making these and they are fairly simple to make no matter what level of crafter you are, from beginner to master crafter. Plus they are super fun!

You will need:

A pair of scissors

Double sided paper (I have used the beautiful paper from the centre of Craftseller magazine) or two pieces glued back to back

Wooden sticks, kebab sticks or even pencils

Washi tape

Brads or split pins
